Day 20: Beaver 64 mi

To avoid daytime storms, for the past two days father and son have been paddling during the night; from around midnight to the early afternoon. This sounds to be a good idea but we are not sure how much sleep they get during the daytime. “Exhausting day, hard to stay awake” – Imre wrote.

This area is hard to navigate due to the water being so low that they often get stuck on sand bars. They can’t wait to be out of the Yukon Flats.

We are expecting to receive actual photos from Peter and Imre in the mail any day now. Until then we will post relevant pictures downloaded from the Internet.

It’s hard to believe that this lace will soon become a huge 1 mile wide river.
